MANILA, Philippines – Hinamon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang House of Representatives quad-committee (quad-comm) na ipatawag siya sa pagdinig patungkol sa mga isyung may kinalaman sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), illegal na droga, at extrajudicial killings.
Sa panayam ng SMNI nitong Huwebes, Oktubre 17, sinabi ni Duterte na hindi niya ito aatrasan at handang sumagot sa mga tanong ng quad-comm.
“There are many people who had been called or about to be called, or perhaps others might still be contacted. They should summon me directly instead if this is all about me. Why involve other people? They can reach out to me, and I’ll provide the answers they need,” ani Duterte.
Aniya, marami siyang sasabihin sa bansa ngunit hindi pa natatanggap ang imbitasyon sa kanya.
Dagdag pa, matagal na niyang nais na dumalo sa imbestigasyon ng Kamara.
“I’ll ask them directly what they want to hear from me before the start of any official proceedings. I will give it to them…I will give them the answer they want to hear and not what I want to hear,” anang dating Pangulo.
Matatandaan na nauna nang nagsiwalat ng impormasyon ang ilan sa mga key official ng Duterte administration sa quad-comm hearings katulad ni retired police officer at dating Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office General Manager Royina Garma at Police Lt. Col. Jovie Espenido.
Sinabi ni Espenido ang mga impormasyon kaugnay sa payout scheme, at pagbibigay ng pabuya sa mga mapapatay na suspek sa illegal na droga.
Itinanggi naman ito ni Duterte at sinabing bakit naman tatanggapin ng mga pulis ang ganitong uri ng kasunduan na kalaunan ay magdadala sa kanilang pagbagsak.
“The so-called reward they’re referring to does not exist. I will never give a reward. When police complete the mission, I treat them to a restaurant to celebrate and commend them for their hard work,” ani Duterte.
Sa rekord ng pulisya, mayroong aabot sa 6,000 indibidwal ang nasawi dahil sa war on drugs.
Iginiit naman ng human rights organizations na posibleng aabot pa ng hanggang 30,000 ang mga nasawi. RNT/JGC
