MANILA, Philippines- Nilagdaan ng Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT), Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG), at ng Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) ang isang memorandum of agreement (MOA) para sa isang legal task force laban sa trafficking at child exploitation, base sa Department of Justice (DOJ) nitong Martes.
Base sa DOJ, ang MOA ay tinintahan nina IACAT Undersecretary-in-Charge Nicky Ty, Assistant Solicitor General Thomas Laragan, at OIC Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon.
“This ceremonial signing of the MOA of the OPG, OSG and the IACAT symbolizes the continued coordination and cooperation between and among these offices needed in the fight against human trafficking,” pahayag ni Fadullon.
Sa ilalim ng MOA, nilalayon ng IACAT-OPG-OSG Legal Task Force ang institusyonalisasyon ng mga hakbangin ng pamahalaan laban sa Trafficking in Persons (TIP), Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), at Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) cases.
“We continue to deal with emerging trends in trafficking in persons and increasing cases of OSAEC due to the vulnerabilities we face as a nation. With this, the DOJ is firm in its resolve to combat this issue,” giit ni Ty. RNT/SA
