MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ni Senate President Pro Tempore Sherwin Gatchalian na siya ang mamumuno sa impeachment trial ni Bise Presidente Sara Duterte bilang acting Senate president.
“Under the rules, since the Senate president pro tempore assumes as acting president, tayo ang magpi-preside ng impeachment,” ani Gatchalian.
Ayon pa sa senador, kinakailangang muling manumpa ang mga senator-judges bago simulan ang paglilitis.
Nang tanungin kung kailan ito isasagawa, sinabi niyang, “I have to consult with the clerk of court.”
Nakatakda sa Hulyo 6 ang pagsisimula ng impeachment trial ni Duterte.
“For me, the original schedule is feasible. But again, I’ll have to consult the clerk of court kung ano pa yung mga issues na pwede mangyari,” dagdag ni Gatchalian. RNT
