ANILA, Philippines- Nag-deploy ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ng 200 tauhan at land assets para tumulong sa umiiral na disaster response operations kasunod ng pagputok ng Mount Kanlaon sa Negros Island.
“These teams are prepared to assist in evacuation, administer first aid, provide relief, and ensure security in coordination with local government units and other agencies,” pahayag ni AFP spokesperson Col. Frances Margareth Padilla nitong Martes. “This is not just a duty, it is our solemn commitment of service and compassion.”
Naganap ang limang minutong “moderately explosive” eruption sa summit crater ng Mount Kanlaon ng alas-2:55 ng madaling araw nitong Martes, ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Nagdulot ito ng usok na aabot ng 3 km. mula sa vent.
Naiulat din ang ashfall sa La Carlota City – Barangays Cubay, San Miguel, Yubo, at Ara-al; Bago City – Barangays Ilijan at Binubuhan; at La Castellana – Barangays Biak-na-Bato, Sag-ang, at Mansalanao. RNT/SA
