MANILA, Philippines – Ipinag-utos ni Education Secretary Sonny Angara ang pagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon kasunod ng umano’y sexual harassment incident sangkot ang isang public school principal laban sa ilang Grade 10 students sa Quezon City.
“Pinaiimbestigahan na po ni Secretary Sonny Angara ang insidenteng ito sa ating (Secretary Sonny Angara already ordered an investigation to the) Schools Division Office (SDO) of Quezon City,” saad sa pahayag ni DepEd Media Relations Chief Dennis Legazpi nitong Biyernes, Oktubre 4.
Nitong Setyembre 29, naaresto ang naturang principal at ikinulong dahil sa reklamong lascivious conduct sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 7610 o Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Sa inisyal na report ng SDO QC, apat na Grade 10 student ang minolestiya ng principal.
Siniguro naman ng DepEd na tutulungan ang mga apektadong mag-aaral sa iniskedyul na counseling kasama ang kanilang mga magulang.
“The School Child Protection Committee was convened and met with the parents and students for intervention and psychological first aid,” sinabi naman sa hiwalay na pahayag ni QC Schools Division Superintendent Carleen Sedilla. RNT/JGC
