Kilos-protesta sa SONA 2024 kasado

MANILA, Philippines- Magsasagawa ng kilos-protesta ang mga progresibong grupo sa ikatlong State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa Hulyo 22, ayon sa Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) nitong Martes.

Inihayag ng Bayan na ihahayag ng mga grupo ang pagtutol sa umano’y “duplicity” at “failure of the government” sa pagresolba sa panawagan para sa dagdag-sahod, desenteng trabaho, at sapat na social services.

“Themed ‘Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Pilipino Lalong Naghihirap!’, the protest will reflect the people’s outrage over the indifference of Marcos Jr. to the worsening plight of ordinary citizens while his government continues to open the country to intensified foreign military intervention,” pahayag ng Bayan.

Ayon pa rito, ang itatampok na effigy sa kilos-protesta ay sumisimbolo sa alitan sa pagitan ng mga Marcos at Duterte dahil “they vie for power and influence while the rest of the nation is mired in poverty.”

“The ball is ‘Binobolang  Pilipinas’ which refers to the empty promises of Marcos Jr and his  ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ slogan,” base pa sa Bayan.

Sa“The People’s SONA,” tatalakayin ng mga raliyosta ang mga sumusunod na isyu:

• Presyo ng pagkain at iba pang pangunahing bilihin

• Pag-igting ng tensyon sa West Philippine Sea

• Paglabag sa human rights at war crimes sa anti-insurgency at anti-crime operations;

• Pagpalya umano ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na pagbayaran ang anila’y krimen laban sa mga tao

• Marcos at Duterte political dynasties

Samantala, magtatalaga ang Philippine National Police ng nasa 22,000 pulis upang magbantay sa SONA.

“Ang sabi ko lang naman, ‘You can go out for a protest but make sure hindi naman po kayo  nagkakaroon ng inconvenience.’ Kawawa rin naman po yung mga tao. That’s  the biggest problem po talaga yung traffic created by sobrang deployment din ng pulis, and of course, mga raliyista,” ani PNP Chief Police General Rommel Marbil.

“The bloated spending for SONA ceremonies and overkill deployment of police represents an unnecessary expense that should have been spent to provide welfare to the poor. These are the inconvenient truths that the police and the government do not want the people to hear,” giit naman ng Bayan. RNT/SA
