MANILA, Philippines – Inatasan ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ang Philippine National Police (PNP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at iba pang law enforcement agencies na magsagawa ng malaliman at mabilis na imbestigasyon ukol sa pananambang sa isang kawani ng House of Representatives sa Quezon City.
“I am deeply saddened and outraged by the tragic death of Director Mauricio “Morrie” Pulhin, Chief of Technical Staff of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives. Director Pulhin was shot and killed over the weekend in an attack that has left his family and our community in shock and grief,” nakasaad sa statement ni Romualdez.
“All angles must be pursued—including, but not limited to, his professional affiliations—so that the truth may come out and justice may be served,” dagdag pa nito.
Ayon kay Romualdez, matagal nang nagsilbi sa Kamara si Pulhin.
“His professionalism, integrity, and quiet commitment to his work earned him the respect of his peers and superiors alike. We condemn this brutal act of violence in the strongest possible terms,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez kung saan nagpaabot ito ng pakikiramay sa naiwangh pamilya ng biktima.
Batay sa police report na natanggap ng Kamara, naganap ang pamamaril sa Club House ng Don Jose Heights Subd sa Quezon City kung saan idaraos ang 7th birthday party ng anak ng biktima.
Nakapasok sa loob ng subdivision ang dalawang gunman gamit ang pekeng ID at lumilitaw na dalawang oras bago ang krimen ay nasa loob na ito ng subdivision at nagmamanman.
Nagtamo ng tama ng bala sa ulo ang biktima, nadala pa ito sa pinakamalapit na ospital subalit ideneklarang dead on arrival.
Nakatakas ang mga suspek sa main gate matapos nitong paputukan ang mga guwardiya ng subdivision. Gail Mendoza
