MANILA, Philippines – Nagbitiw nitong Biyernes si Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong bilang special adviser ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), ang katawan na nilikha ni Pangulong Marcos upang imbestigahan ang mga maanomalyang proyekto sa imprastraktura.
Sa isang liham sa Pangulo, sinabi ni Magalong “The Palace’s pronouncements concerning my designation, which run contrary to the terms of my appointment, have undermined the role and mandate entrusted to me.”
“Combined with circumstances that already cast doubt on the independence of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure, it has become clear that my continued service is no longer tenable,” aniya.
Hindi na idinetalye ni Magalong ang mga pahayag na nagpababa sa kanya sa puwesto.
Nitong Biyernes, sinabi ni Palace press officer Claire Castro na ipapa-aralan ng Pangulo sa kanyang legal team ang pagtatalaga ni Magalong sa ICI upang maiwasan ang conflict of interest. RNT/MND
