MANILA, Philippines – Pinaigting ng Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) ang hakbang upang siguruhin ang kaligtasan ng mga residente ng probinsya sa pananalasa ng Bagyong Kristine.
Iniulat ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office na mayroong 5,358 pamilya o 15,732 indibidwal ang apektado ng masamang panahon.
Nalubog naman sa baha ang 123 barangay sa probinsya.
Sa mga apektadong pamilya, kabuuang 844 pamilya o 2,437 indibidwal ay mula sa mga bayan ng Luna, Bangar, City of San Fernando, Balaoan, Rosario, Burgos, Aringay at Caba.
Tumutuloy ang mga ito sa nasa 40 evacuation centers.
Iniukat ang hanggang tuhod na baha sa coastal barangays ng Santo Tomas, partikular ang Baybay, Raois, Cabaruan, Balaoac at Narvacan.
Napinsala ng bagyo ang 167 tirahan sa Balaoan, Luna, San Juan, Bacnotan, Bauang, Agoo, Naguilian, Bangar at Rosario sa mga bumagsak na puno at malakas na hangin dala ng bagyo.
Nagpapatuloy ang search and rescue operations sa mga nawawalang mangingisda mula sa Brgy. Poro, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Samantala, personal na namahagi ng tulong si La Union Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David sa mga apektadong residente sa Luna, Bangar, at San Fernando City.
“During calamities, we work round the clock to ensure the safety of our affected constituents. I personally visited our evacuees in their respective evacuation centers to check their situation and conditions and to provide their needs. We have already extended relief packs to our evacuees,” ayon kay Gov. Ortega-David.
Pinangunahan ng Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and Provincial General Services Office ang relief operations at pamamahagi ng essential supplies sa mga apektadong lugar.
Handa ring magbigay ng medical at health assistance ang Provincial Health Office sa mga evacuee.
“I encourage our residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities for everyone’s safety. Rest assured that the Provincial Government is conducting continuous monitoring throughout the province to assess the situation and provide necessary recommendations. Our emergency vehicles are on standby, including the province’s 911 emergency hotline, to respond promptly if needed,” dagdag pa ni Gov. Ortega-David. RNT/JGC
