MANILA, Philippines – Naghain ng resolusyon ang Makabayan bloc lawmakers para magpaabot ng pakikiramay at pagkilala sa award-winning Filipina actress na si Jaclyn Jose.
Sa pahayag ngayong Women’s Month, pinangunahan ni House Assistant Minority Leader Rep. Arlene Brosas ang paghahain ng House Resolution (HR) 1628 nitong Lunes, kasunod ng pagkamatay ng aktres noong Marso 2.
“The House of Representatives expresses its profound condolences to the bereaved family of award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose and honors her legacy and contributions to the Philippine cinema,” sinabi ng mga mambabatas sa resolusyong inilabas sa media nitong Miyerkules, Marso 6.
Saad sa resolusyon ang pagkilala sa ‘significant contributions’ ni Jaclyn Jose sa film at television industry, at ang mga role nito sa Flor Contemplacion Story (1995), Mula sa Puso (1997-1998), Patay na si Hesus (2016), at Kalel, 15 (2019).
“Jaclyn Jose made history as the sole Southeast Asian actress to clinch the prestigious Best Actress accolade at the 69th Cannes Film Festival for her depiction of a drug-dealing matriarch in Brillante Mendoza’s film Ma’Rosa in 2016,” sinabi pa sa resolusyon.
“Her remarkable acting talent, nuanced character portrayals, and depth as a Filipina artist has undeniably left an enduring impact on our nation’s entertainment landscape, garnering,” dagdag pa. RNT/JGC
