MALABUEÑOS ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS

MALABON Mayor Jeannie Sandoval was just right in urging her constituents from actively participating in the city government’s environmental programs, after all, everyone would always benefit in the long run.

This, as the city’s first female chief executive has assured them of her administration’s continued commitment to strengthening collaborations with national government agencies, private organizations, and environmental advocates to further enhance and sustain Malabon’s environmental initiatives.

For sure, it’s also in her thought that through collective action and shared responsibility, the city government could be able to effectively implement more initiatives on waste management, flood mitigation, climate resilience, and environmental protection—geared toward building a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Malabon for present and future generations.

Late last week, Sandoval and key officials led by City Administrator Alex Rosete carried out another ‘Bayanihan sa Barangay’ program with Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s top officials which involved massive clean-up in various major and secondary roads as well as waterways.

“Patuloy ang ating paghihikayat sa ating mga kababayan na makilahok sa mga aktibidad sa pagpapanatili ng kalinisan na nagtitiyak ng maayos na kalusugan ng bawat pamilyang Malabueño,” said the wife of ex-congressman Ricky Sandoval – known for being the ‘Father of Malabon Cityhood.’

The MMDA also conducted orientations on solid waste management, anti-vaping and smoking, anti-littering, disaster preparedness, and traffic management while emergency quick response demonstrations, sound truck and one-stop shop query services were made available for residents.

A mobile material recovery facility was also stationed particularly along P. Aquino Road or Letre Road to promote recycling and encourage residents to donate plastic waste.

The city government also deployed the Mobile Jeannie Services to bring various environmental and social services closer to the Malabueños.

Rosete hailed the support of the various sectors to the local government’s programs primarily aimed at uplifting the residents’ standard of living, among others.

“Ang tagumpay ng ating mga programa ay nakasalalay sa aktibong pakikiisa ng bawat mamamayan. Katuwang ang mga ahensya at organisasyon, patuloy naming sisikapin na maihatid ang mga programang may konkretong epekto at pangmatagalang benepisyo para sa Malabon,” Rosete said.
