MANILA, Philippines – Makikipagpulong si Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo kay United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio sa Washington sa Hunyo 9 upang talakayin ang mga isyung may “mutual interest” ang dalawang bansa.
“In my official meetings in New York, I will affirm the unwavering commitment of the Philippines, as a founding member of the United Nations, to remain actively engaged in all discussions to support the UN and work with UN member states for global action on pressing challenges of our time,” ayon sa DFA chief.
“Solidarity around the principles and the common purpose for international peace and security underpinning the UN Charter must prevail especially as the United Nations marks its 80th anniversary this year,” dagdag pa niya.
Magbibigay din siya ng keynote speech sa pagdiriwang ng ika-127 Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas sa New York at makikipagkita kay UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Si Manalo ang itatalaga bilang susunod na permanent representative ng Pilipinas sa UN. RNT
