MANILA, Philippines – Hinimok ni Vice President Sara Duterte nitong Sabado, Disyembre 2, ang mga overseas Filipino worker na pumasok sa pagnenegosyo.
“We celebrate the cause of the Balikbayan Program of Go Negosyo, a cause that introduces a change in the lives of the OFWs and their families. This is a demonstration of the power of entrepreneurship to transform lives and build dreams,” mensahe ni Duterte kasabay ng Go Negosyo Balikbayan 2023 Summit sa Pasay City.
Sa datos mula sa Philippine Statistics Authority, lumabas na ang total remittances ng mahigit 1.96 milyong OFWs noong 2022, ay umabot sa P197 bilyon.
Ani Duterte, bagama’t nakatulong ang mga padalang ito para sa paglago ng ekonomiya ng bansa, nagsasakripisyo naman ang mga OFW na malayo sa kanilang mga pamilya.
“Go Negosyo is paving the way to empower the members of a sector who often face the uncertainty of financial stability and employment once they return to the country. We applaud Go Negosyo’s Balikbayan program for introducing, developing, and reinforcing entrepreneurial acumen in our OFWs,” pahayag ni Duterte.
“The best part of this is that while they are taught to fortify their economic security, they are doing it along with their families,” dagdag pa niya.
Hindi personal na nakadalo si Duterte dahil ito ay may sakit, kung kaya’t ang mensahe ay ipinadala na lamang niya sa pamamagitan ni Department of Education Undersecretary Michael Poa. RNT/JGC
