NAVOTAS, VALENZUELA CITED FOR EXEMPLARY SERVICE

THE cities of Navotas and Valenzuela were both victorious in their campaign for good    governance and exemplary service as they received the Accelerating Reforms for Improved Service Efficiency awards from the Anti-Red Rape Authority.

Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez personally received the award from ARTA Secretary Ernesto Perez and Undersecretary Gerald Divinagracia during the agency’s 5th anniversary celebration at The Manila Hotel.

“This recognition is the outcome of the collaborative efforts of all city government offices. We especially commend our electronic Business One-Stop-Shop and Information and Communications Technology Office staff for continuously developing our digital system and simplifying all processes for Navoteño taxpayers,” Tiangco said.

“This award validates all our hard work and challenges us to do more to improve the lives of our constituents,” he added.

Navotas was hailed for its full compliance to the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Deli-very Act of 2018 particularly on the implementation of the e-BOSS.

Through the city’s e-BOSS facility, Navoteño businesses can apply, renew, and pay for their permits within the comfort of their own offices, Tiangco said.
Aside from the issuance of the electronic version, hard copies of permits are also delivered to their respective addresses through in-house couriers.

Meanwhile, Valenzuela Mayor Wes Gatchalian told The Good Riddance that it’s the first under his administration to receive the ARISE awards.

Known for its reputation of being a business-friendly city, Valenzuela was recognized as one of the eight local government units in the country that have successfully fulfilled the requirements of the ARISE Award across all the four categories.

Gatchalian and the city got the prestigious crystal ARISE trophy with an emblem serving as a tangible symbol of the great achievement in minimizing red-tape in the local government.

“With this award in hand, the local government of Valenzuela will continue its mission towards its goal of creating a business-friendly and corruption-free environment for all the business entities in the city,” he said.

The ARISE Awards serve as a comprehensive recognition for both national government agencies and LGUs in acknowledgement of their endeavors to enhance bureaucratic efficiency in the country.

Government agencies had the chance to partake in four categories of the ARISE Awards, namely: Compliance to the Electronic Business-One-Stop-Shop for LGUs or Digitalization of Services Award for NGAs, Adherence to the Philippine Good Regulatory Principles Award, Accomplishment in the Report Card Survey 2.0 Award and Philippine Ease of Doing Business Reporting System Award
