MANILA, Philippines – Kinumpirma ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na humiling ang Interpol ng supplemental documents kaugnay sa kahilingan ng gobyerno na mag-isyu ng red notice laban sa dating kongresista na si Zaldy Co.
Ayon kay Palmer Mallari, tagapagsalita ng NBI, nakatanggap ang ahensya ng liham mula sa Philippine Center for Transnational Crime (PCTC) matapos umano itong makatanggap ng komunikasyon mula sa Interpol.
“There was a letter sent to the NBI by the Philippine Center for Transnational Crime… apparently they received a letter from Interpol… and Interpol is requesting supplemental information,” ani Mallari.
Binigyan ang NBI ng hanggang Pebrero 11 para isumite ang hinihinging karagdagang dokumento.
“We are given until Feb. 11 to submit these supplemental info so they can decide on our request,” dagdag niya.
Paliwanag ni Mallari, normal lang ang proseso at hindi ibig sabihin na may hatol na ang Interpol sa kaso.
“Clarification lang ito—normal. From time to time, Interpol will submit information that is not contained in the original request,” ani Mallari.
Patuloy naman ang NBI International Operations Division sa pagsubaybay kay Co. “We have leads…but we will not speak on them for now, though coordination with our counterparts continues,” sabi ni Mallari.
Layunin ng red notice na alertuhan ang mga international law enforcement agencies upang matulungan sa paghahanap at pag-aresto kay Co. Patuloy ang manhunt ng NBI at monitoring ng domestic at international leads. RNT/MND
