MANILA, Philippines – Itinaas ng National Grid Corporation of the Philippines ang “yellow alert” sa Visayas at Mindanao power grids nitong Biyernes ng hapon.
Sa isang advisory, sinabi ng NGCP na ang Visayas grid ay isinailalim sa yellow alert simula 6 p.m. hanggang 8 p.m. ng Agosto 1, 2025.
Ito ay dahil sa ang peak demand ng grid ay umabot sa 2,449 MW habang ang magagamit nitong kapasidad ay nasa 2,569 MW.
“10 plants have been on forced outage from April to July, and six other power plants out since 2024; while four are running on derated capacities, for a total of 423 megawatts (MW) unavailable to the grid.” saad ng NGCP.
Gayundin, ang Mindanao power grid ay isinailalim sa yellow alert simula 6 p.m. hanggang 8 p.m. noong Biyernes, dahil umabot sa 2,667 MW ang demand ng system nito habang nasa 2,827 MW ang available capacity nito.
“11 plants have been on forced outage from June to July, and two other power plants out since 2024; while three are running on derated capacities, for a total of 638.3MW unavailable to the grid.” ayon sa grid operator.
Ani ng kompanya: “A significant number of plants on unplanned/forced outages and de-rated capacities” at “high system demand” ang naging dahilan upang itaas ang yellow alert status sa parehong Visayas at Mindanao grid.
Ang yellow alert ay ibinibigay kapag ang operating margin ay hindi sapat upang matugunan ang mga kinakailangan sa contingency ng transmission grid.
