NATIONAL Housing Authority General Manager Joeben Tai is just among the few capable and genuinely compassionate leaders in the current administration who truly serve the poor Filipino people, having fulfilled the promise he made when President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed him to his post—to prioritize their needs, especially the lack of a home of their own brought about by poverty.
In fulfillment of his commitment to provide decent housing for Filipinos, GM Tai joined the heads of other key shelter agencies in awarding CUA or certificates of unit allocation to some family-beneficiaries of NHA units during the opening of the Second National Housing Expo in Pasay City.
Some of those who received CUAs were residents of NHA Navotaas Homes 3 in Barangay NBBS-Kaunlaran, Navotas City—a project intended for informal settler families living in dangerous areas and high-risk waterways.
The CUA awarding formed part of the two-day expo organized by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the Pag-IBIG Fund in observance of the National Shelter Month.
The event showcased the government’s whole-of-nation approach to housing, as demonstrated by the expanded ‘Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino’ Housing (4PH) program.
The low-key, workaholic NHA chief even quoted the President as saying: “Because we recognize that the true value of a home is measured by the safety, peace, and quality of life it brings to every Filipino family.
Beyond the distribution of titles, the NHA set up an information booth to address public inquiries on housing and featured an exhibit of scale models of its currently standing housing projects.
“Through the housing expo, the key housing agencies and more than 80 established private developers have united to address the growing housing shortage and provide housing opportunities for Filipinos.”
“That’s why I encourage individuals and families to take advantage of this opportunity to ask questions and learn about affordable housing programs,” Tai added.
Anchored on the theme “Tahanan. Pamayanan. Kinabukasan,” the event underscored the government’s efforts to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing toward building resilient and sustainable communities for a better future.
May your tribe multiply GM Tai!
