MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng National Security Council (NSC) nitong Lunes, Enero 6 na masyado pang maaga para masabi kung saang bansa nanggaling ang drone na narekober ng mga mangingisda sa tubig ng Masbate noong Disyembre 30.
Sa panayam, pinawi ni Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya, NSC spokesperson, ang hinala na ang dilaw na drone na may markang HY-119 ay galing sa China at nagsagawa ng reconnaissance missions para sa mga submarine nito.
“The presumption of some experts is that this drone is Chinese, but our government believes that it is still too early to release the results of its forensic investigation,” ani Malaya.
Noong nakaraang linggo ay kinumpirma ng mga opisyal ng Philippine Navy na nadiskubre ng mga mangingisdang Pinoy ang isang remotely operated submersible drone, siyam na kilometro mula sa dalampasigan ng San Pascual, Masbate.
Nagpapatuloy na ang imbestigasyon sa narekober na drone.
“Anyway, we have custody of the drone so we can scrutinize it thoroughly and discuss our findings with our foreign counterparts to allow us to identity the origins of this.
“But, as of now, it is still to early to fully determine its origin. So, it would be irresponsible for us at the National Security Council to announce anything based on initial investigation,” aniya. RNT/JGC
