OFWs sa Singapore pinag-iingat vs ‘third country recruiting’ schemes

MANILA, Philippines- Binalaan ang overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sa Singapore laban sa illegal recruitment schemes kung saan nangangako ng trabaho sa ibang bansa kapalit ng malaking bayad.

Sinabi ng Migrant Workers Office (MWO) sa Singapore na nakatanggap ito ng mga ulat ng “third-country recruitment” para sa umano’y trabaho sa Canada, Poland, Germany, at Malta. 

“Under these schemes, recruiters target already employed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), particularly household service workers, by posting online alleged job vacancies in the aforementioned countries. They then charge exorbitant fees for the supposed processing of visas and other documentary requirements,” pahayag ng MWO Singapore sa abiso nitong Biyernes.

“After payment, the recruiters disappear. In the worst cases, OFWs leave their current employment only to find out upon reaching the destination country that the promised job does not exist.” 

Pinayuhan ng MWO Singapore ang OFWs na makipagtransaksyon lamang sa recruitment agencies na may valid job orders na aprubado ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) sa Pilipinas.

Maaari ring maberipika ng OFWs ang job offers sa pamamagitan ng official website ng DMW. RNT/SA
