MANILA, Philippines – Suportado ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang pagbibigay ng local government units (LGUs) ng libreng medical services sa kanilang mga nasasakupan na magpapalakas umano sa access ng publiko sa healthcare.
Ito ay kasunod ng isinagawa ng Barangay Pinyahan sa Quezon City na pag-aalok ng libreng serbisyong medikal sa mga residente, kabilang ang libreng konsultasyon, gamot at preventive care.
Ipinatutupad na rin ang mga kaparehong program ng ibang mga LGU sa buong bansa.
“Health should not be a privilege but a right of every citizen. Every step that makes healthcare more accessible is an investment in the dignity and resilience of our communities,” saad sa kalatas ng ahensya nitong Sabado, Agosto 23.
“The DILG fully supports LGUs that put the health of their people first, because these efforts save lives, ease the burden on families, and help build a stronger nation.”
Iginiit ng DILG na ang mga programang ito ay naaayon sa Bagong Pilipinas agenda ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“By empowering LGUs, the government aims to guarantee that no Filipino is left behind in accessing essential healthcare,” dagdag pa.
Siniguro naman ng DILG ang patuloy na suporta sa mga LGU para maipagpatuloy at mapalawak pa ang community-based medical programs. RNT/JGC
