MANILA, Philippines- Inirekomenda ng state weather bureau nitong Biyernes na ang local government units at school officials ang magdesisyon sa pag-isyu ng extreme heat protocols.
“At the moment, our recommendation is that the recipients of heat-related information provided by PAGASA (e.g., the local government units, school heads, etc.) should have the final say on the decision-making process guided by the information that they received from the agency,” pahayag ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) nitong Biyernes ng hapon.
Kasunod ang pahayag ng ahensya ng mungkahi ng isang mambabatas kamakailan na maaaring itakda ng PAGASA ang mga alituntunin sa work at class cancellations dahil sa matinding init.
Maraming paaralan ang nagkakansela ng face to face classes dahil sa heat index forecast mula sa PAGASA.
Inirekomenda naman ng isa pang mambabatas na dapat i-adopt ng pamahalaan an “temporary work break” upang ilayo ang mga empleyado sa panganib ng mataas na temperatura. RNT/SA
