MANILA, Philippines — Kanselado ang nakatakdang impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa Martes, Agosto 18, dahil sa inaasahang malakas na pag-ulan at pagbaha dulot ng habagat.
Batay sa notice ng Senate impeachment court, ipinag-utos ang kanselasyon kasunod ng forecast ng masamang panahon.
Nilagdaan ni Clerk of Court Renato Bantug Jr. ang notice na inilabas nitong Lunes, Agosto 17, alinsunod umano sa tagubilin ng presiding officer ng impeachment court na si Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
“In view of the forecast heavy rains/flood tomorrow due to the Southwest Monsoon and upon the instruction of the Presiding Officer, the trial scheduled on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, is hereby cancelled,” saad sa notice.
Wala pang nakasaad sa iniulat na notice kung kailan ipagpapatuloy ang susunod na pagdinig sa impeachment case laban kay Duterte. RNT
