MANILA, Philippines – Pinaigting pa ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang kanilang search and rescue (SAR) operations para sa isang nawawalang pasahero sa biyahe mula Batangas papuntang Caticlan noong Disyembre 13.
Inatasan ni PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan ang pag-activate ng mga SAR vessels at aerial assets bilang bahagi ng pangako ng PCG na protektahan ang mga buhay sa dagat.
“We have been doing all we can, no matter how challenged we are in terms of assets, in order to provide the same quality of service, fast and right, to all Filipinos and users of our seas. This is the way of life of the PCG in the Bagong Pilipinas,” ani Gavan.
Ayon kay Gavan, patuloy na iniimbestigahan ng PCG kung tumalon sa dagat ang nawawalang pasahero.
Hanggang ngayon, aktibong naghahanap ang mga PCG SAR units sa rutang Batangas-Caticlan at pinalawak na ang kanilang operasyon sa pamamagitan ng surface at aerial search.
Nakikipag-ugnayan din ang PCG District Southern Tagalog sa Philippine National Police upang suportahan ang patuloy na paghahanap, pati na rin sa mga komunidad sa baybayin at mga mangingisda upang palawakin ang lugar ng operasyon.
