MANILA, Philippines- Binanggit ni Senate Minority Leader Aquilino ”Koko” Pimentel III nitong Martes ang kahalagahan ng presensya ni retired police colonel Royina Garma sa isinagawang imbestigasyon ng Blue Ribbon subcommittee sa Duterte drug war.
Sinabi ni Pimentel na pinadalhan ng subpoena si Garma kabilang si retired police colonel Edilberto Leonardo, dating Customs bureau intelligence officer Jimmy Guban, upang dumalo sa susunod na pagdinig.
”Garma missed her chance to state her allegations right in front of the former President (Rodrigo Duterte),” ayon kay Pimentel.
”The confrontation between the two is not that important but of course would be dramatic. What is important is for Garma to appear before the subcommittee because, as I’ve said, we will follow the evidence and without Garma’s testimony before us we lose that evidence through personal testimony,” ayon kay Pimentel.
Si Garma ang naglantad sa isinagawang imbestigasyon ng House Quad Committee na ipinatupad ni Duterte ang Davao model sa drug war sa buong bansa na binibigyan ng pabuya ang sinumang opisyal ng pulisya na makapatay ng drug suspect.
Pinabulaanan ni Duterte ang testimonya ni Garma.
Samantala, sinabi ni Pimentel na dapat suriin at rebyuhin ng abogado ang lahat ng sinabi ni dating Pangulong Duterte sa kanyang testimonya sa Senado nitong Lunes
“Lawyers should go over everything,” aniya.
Sinabi pa ni Pimentel na dapat suriin nang mabuti ang ekspertong abogado sa criminal law ang lahat ng sinabi ni Duterte hinggil sa kahalagahan ng sinabi nito bilang ebidensya hinggil sa death squad.
