MANILA, Philippines- Tinawag ng Makati City ang local government ng Taguig na “bully” sa pagpapasara ng huli sa riverfront park na umano’y “operating without the necessary permits.”
Sinabi ng Makati city government na naglabas ang Taguig ng closure order nitong Linggo ng umaga at hinarangan lahat ng mga entrance at nagtalaga ng mga tauhan nito upang palibutan ang perimeter ng Makati Park and Garden.
“The order was served on the same day at 6:40 a.m. The park’s gate was padlocked by men with scarves covering their faces. Several Makati employees remain trapped inside the park,” pahayag ng lokal na pamahalaan nitong Linggo.
Nauna nang sinabi ng Taguig City na hindi nakakuha ang Makati ng mayor’s permit alinsunod sa Local Government Code, jurisprudence, at local ordinances saklaw ang mga negosyo at mga aktibidad sa lungsod.
“The said park and garden, which has been effectively closed as a park by Makati and used as a garage for its heavy equipment and storage for various objects, is subject to Taguig’s jurisdiction, which has the right to possess and administer the same, notwithstanding Makati’s unlawful possession,” pahayag ng Taguig.
Bilang tugon, kinuwestiyon ng Makati ang timing ng aksyon ng Taguig at deployment nito ng 100 uniformed personnel upang saraduhan ang lugar.
“If this were true, why issue a closure order on a Sunday and serve it on the same day at 6:40 a.m.? Why deploy 100 uniformed personnel to serve a closure order on a garage?” giit ng una.
“But Taguig, by insisting that Makati needs to secure a permit for the park, affirms our ownership of the property. This contradicts their earlier statement, but by now, we are accustomed to Taguig’s legal somersaults and twisted logic,” dagdag nito.
Gayundin, nanindigan ang local government na kanila ang nasabing property at hindi magpapatalo sa isang “bully,” na tinutukoy ang Taguig.
“Taguig’s handling of the Makati Park issue, as well as other issues involving the EMBO communities, is childish, arrogant, and reckless,” anang Makati.
“How can foreign investors feel secure and protected when a local government in Metro Manila can behave with little regard for the law and the legal process?”
Muli namang nanawagan ang Makati sa national government “to censure Taguig for its actions” upang mapreserba at maprotektahan ang mga pagmama-ari ng una. RNT/SA
