MANILA, Philippines – PERSONAL na nagpaabot ng pakikiramay si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa pamilya ng yumao niyang ‘mabuti at tunay na kaibigan’ na si ALC Group chair Dominic Edgard Angeles Cabangon.
Nitong weekend, nagpunta si Pangulong Marcos sa The Heritage Park sa Taguig City, para personal na makiramay sa naiwang mahal sa buhay ni Cabangon at nagbigay ng maikling mensahe.
”In times of difficulty, in times of tension, when he would be there, he would always lift our spirits and he would always provide hope. Don’t worry, it will be better,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.
”When things went well, and I took office, never did he come back and said to me, ‘oh sige pahingi naman nito, tulungan mo ‘yan, i-appoint mo naman ako sa ganito… never,” aniya pa rin.
Aniya pa, sa tuwing mawawalan ng mahal sa buhay, normal at mauunawaan na maging malungkot.
”But all of us will notice suddenly realize, that even we are sad, in the midst of our sadness, we still find reasons to smile and to laugh or remember the good times that we had with him,” ani Pangulong Marcos.
Inalala naman ni Pangulo Marcos na palagi niyang nakikitang nakangiti si Cabangon.
”Even if he is now gone, he’s still our friend and he will always be with us,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos.
Nauna rito, si Cabangon ay pumanaw, araw ng Linggo, Marso 8, sa edad na 61.
Kinumpirma ng kompanya ang kanyang pagpanaw sa isang Facebook post.
“It is with deep sorrow that the Cabangon Family announces the passing of Dominic Edgard Angeles Cabangon, Chairman of the ALC Group of Companies, who joined our Creator, Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2026. He was 61 years old.”
Ipinanganak noong Abril 9, 1964, siya ay anak ni Antonio Cabangon Chua, dating ambassador sa Lao PDR at founder ng ALC Group of Companies, at ni Bienvenida Angeles Cabangon.
Pinangunahan ni Cabangon ang ALC Group, isang diversified conglomerate na may mga negosyo sa media, insurance, pre-need services, automotive dealerships, banking at finance, pawnshops, hotels, real estate at memorial care.
Kabilang sa mga kompanyang nasa ilalim ng ALC Group ang Eternal Gardens Memorial Park Corporation, Isuzu Gencars, Inc., Aliw Broadcasting Corporation, Philippines Graphic, Business Mirror, Pilipino Mirror at Citystate Properties and Management Corporation.
Iniwan ni Cabangon ang kanyang partner na si Sharon Tan at ang kanilang mga anak na sina Dominga Maritoni, Giannina Eunice, Dannica Nicole at Antonio Carlos. KRIS JOSE
