MANILA, Philippines- Binigyang-diin ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang kahandaan ng Philippine economic zones para sa mga pagbubukas ng mga negosyo sa bansa, kung saan sinabi nitong ang designated development sites ay bukas para sa lahat ng foreign investors.
Sa panayam ni Chang Dae-hwan, chairman ng South Korea’s Maeyeong Media Group, kay Marcos nitong Huwebes, iginiit ng Pangulo na available ang business at trade opportunities sa economic zones.
“It’s not specifically only for Korea, only for one industry… but it’s open for everyone and what it provides. It provides a place where there are special incentives, special tax breaks specially tariffs on importation, sales tax because they don’t sell into the country,” ani Marcos.
Nag-aalok ang ecozones ng common tax code at incentive scheme, ani Marcos, kaya hindi kailangang makipag-ugnayan ng locator companies sa iba’t ibang local government units.
Binanggit niya ang Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone (CFEZ) sa Pampanga at New Clark City sa Tarlac kung saan ikinasa ang investment arrangements.
“I expect it to be mostly American companies. They have come in and I like to think that the reason for that is because we have set up the system that’s attractive for their investment,” wika ng Pangulo.
“And so, we’ll continue to [do] that and will be able to do even better if the Luzon Economic Corridor is completed, and the travel times and the cost of travel of transport will be brought down,” patuloy niya. RNT/SA
