MANILA, Philippines – Plano ng Philippine Coast Guard na magtayo ng sub-station sa Dipaculao, Aurora kasunod ng pagbibigay ng munisipalidad ng lupa para rito.
Ayon sa PCG, nagbigay si Dipaculao Mayor Danny Tolentino ng 500-square-meter na lupain sa PCG District North Eastern Luzon at tinanggap ni District Commander, Captain Ludovico Librilla Jr., sa isang seremonya.
Sa seremonya, sinabi ni Librilla na ang land grant ay “step towards safeguarding the nation’s interest.”
“With this new acquisition as a result of the partnership, the PCG ensures the safety and security of our coastal waters, protecting our marine environment and maritime resources by activating PCG sub-stations to every municipality in the coastal areas of the Philippines,” aniya.
Ang PCG ay may mga barko at aerial assets na nagpapatrolya sa Philippine Rise, isang 13-milyong ektarya ng underwater plateau na malapit sa Aurora.
Nagpasalamat si PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan sa Dipaculao sa pagbibigay ng lupain at sinabing ang donasyon ay “testament to the trust and unwavering support of the municipality of Dipaculao and its residents to the PCG.”
