MANILA, Philippines – Inilatag ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang ambisyosong plano nito para sa Office of the Vice President (OVP), ang pagtatatag ng permanenteng tanggapan, museum, at charter para sa ahensiya.
Tinawag itong “launchpad for the future,” sinabi ni VP Sara na ang groundwork na ito ay makapagbibigay katiyakan sa OVP na “remains strong, stable, and effective for the next century.”
Winika pa ni VP Sara na ang paglikha ng OVP museum ay magiging isang “dedicated space to permanently preserve and showcase the history, artifacts, and enduring legacy of the Vice Presidency.”
Na mayroong permanenteng tanggapan, ipinaliwanag ni VP Sara na magagawa ng OVP na mapahusay ang kahusayan at tiyakin na mababawasan ang gastusin at tiyakin na maihahatid ng maayos ang public service.
Ang OVP ay kasalukuyang matatagpuan sa Robinsons Cybergate Plaza sa Mandaluyong City. Gayunman, sa panahon nina dating vice president Leni Robredo at Jejomar Binay, ang OVP ay nago-opisina sa Quezon City Reception House sa New Manila, Quezon City sa panahon ni Robredo habang sa Coconut Palace naman sa Pasay City si Binay.
Ukol sa OVP Charter, sinabi ni VP Sara na ito’y “formally define the mandate, functions, and capacity” ng OVP, kaya nga ito’y magiging “constitutionally recognized and supported.”
“These initiatives are our commitment to democratic institution-building. Strengthening this office will allow us to serve you better, more efficiently, and with greater impact,” ang sinabi pa ni VP Sara sa video message.
Nakatakda namang magdiwang ang OVP ng 90th anniversary nito, araw ng Biyernes, Nobyembre 14. kasabay ng paglulunsad ng Pop-Up Exhibit nito sa Quezon City. Bibigyang diin ng exhibit ang ‘legacies and valuable contributions’ ng mga dating pangalawang pangulo.
“Since its establishment in 1935, this office has been a pillar of Philippine democracy, transforming challenges into opportunities for impactful, grassroots service,” ang sinabi ni VP Sara. (KRIS JOSE)
