MANILA, Philippines – Nagsagawa ng joint military drill ang Pilipinas, Canada at Australia sa West Philippine Sea nitong Sabado, Agosto 23.
Ayon sa Armed Forces of the Philippines, ang maritime cooperative activity ay isinagawa sa kanluran ng El Nido, Palawan sa ilalim ng Exercise ALON.
Nakibahagi ang mga naval asset sa natuarang exercise kabilang ang crossdeck hoisting at personnel exchange kasama ang BRP Jose Rizal (FF150) ng Philippine Navy, HMAS Brisbane (DDG41) ng Royal Australian Navy, at HMCS Ville de Québec (FFH332) ng Royal Canadian Navy.
“The engagement reflects a shared resolve to uphold a rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific and reinforces the commitment of the Philippines, Australia, and Canada to promote freedom of navigation, regional stability, and collective maritime security,” ayon sa AFP.
Nakatuon ang Pilipinas sa pagpapalakas ng maritime capability nito kasabay ng tumitinding tensyon sa West Philippine Sea. RNT/JGC
