MANILA, Philippines – Nagsagawa ng serye ng fleet maneuvers at live-fire exercises ang Philippine Navy Western Naval Command kasama ang navy counterparts nito mula sa Estados Unidos, Canada, Japan at France nitong Miyerkules, Oktubre 15 sa dagat na sakop ng Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
Sa ilalim ng Naval Task Group 44.1, lumahok sa live-fire gunnery exercises ang USS Cincinnati, HMCS Max Bernays, BRP Antonio Luna, BRP Ramon Alcaraz, BRP Valentin Diaz, BRP Lolinato To-Ong, at USS Sprua.
“Exercise SAMASAMA 2025 continues to reinforce the shared commitment of partner navies in promoting regional stability, maritime cooperation, and a free and open Indo-Pacific region,” ayon kay Captain Ellaine Collado, hepe ng Western Naval Command Public Affairs Office.
Pinabuti naman ng aerial support mula sa NV314, US-8, at Falcon 50 ang situational awareness at maritime surveillance sa naturang exercise, at nakatulong na mapanatili ang maayos na command at control operations.
Nagsagawa rin ang fleet ng division tactical maneuvers at Photo Exercise 2, na tumuon sa unified tactical formations at disciplined seamanship sa multinational forces.
Sa susunod na 24 na oras, ang participating units ay sasabak sa Surface Action Group versus Surface Action Group serial, isang simulated naval engagement upang subukin ang koordinasyon, maneuver warfare, at strategic decision-making sa real-time maritime scenarios.
Magsasagawa rin sila ng steaming-in-company operations patungo sa Final Exercise Box na hudyat ng pagtatapos sa high-end combined naval operations sa karagatan. RNT/JGC
