PH, US nagsagawa ng cybersecurity talks sa Washington

KAPUWA pinagtibay ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos ang kanilang commitments sa cybersecurity at digital connectivity cooperation sa isinagawang United States–Philippines Cyber-Digital Policy Dialogue na idinaos sa Washington.

Pinangunahan ni Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy ang delegasyon ng Pilipinas at US Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy Nathaniel Fick para naman sa Washington.

Isa sa pinakamalaking tinalakay ng mga ito ay ang tungkol sa regional cooperation ukol sa cybersecurity, lalo na sa ransomware, sa Indo-Pacific region.

“Participants explored new ways for the United States and the Philippines to promote cyberspace stability, including through further discussions on the role of accountability in cyberspace and deterring malicious cyber activity,” ayon kay US Department of State.

“In particular, the United States and the Philippines reaffirmed their commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation and strengthen cyber resilience. Both sides committed to further discussions on the protection of critical infrastructure against malicious cyberactivity and enhanced collaboration between respective national Computer Emergency Readiness Team,” ayon pa rin sa kalatas.

Samantakla, kapuwa binigyang-diin ng dalawang bansa ang kahalagahan na palakasin ang cybersecurity at protektahan ang privacy intellectual property rights, at digital freedom na susuporta sa development at paglago ng global digital economy. Kris Jose
