MANILA, Philippines- Matagumpay na nanindigan ng BRP Cabra ng Philippine Coast Guard ang laban sa China Coast Guard vessel 3105—isang 130-meter ship—nitong Sabado sa kabila ng malalakas na alon sa karagatan.
Ayon sa PCG, nanindigan ang 44-meter BRP Cabra sa posisyo nito 95 nautical miles sa baybayin ng Zambales, sa kabila ng mga along umabot ng limang metro.
Patuloy na hinahamon ng PCG ang ilegal na presensya ng Chinese vessels sa Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) ng Pilipinas, dahil umano sa mga paglabag sa international law, kabilang ang United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) at ang 2016 Arbitral Award.
“We will not allow any foreign power to encroach upon our territory. The PCG will continue to deploy vessels to ensure the protection of our waters and to prevent any attempts to change the status quo,” giit ni PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan. RNT/SA
