Pinas ika-7 sa Southeast Asia sa internet resilience – grupo

MANILA, Philippines- Pumwesto ang Pilipinas na ika-pito sa Southeast Asia sa salik ng internet resilience, ayon sa international non-profit advocacy organization Internet Society (ISOC).

Sa Pulse Internet Resilience Index ng ISOC, nakakuha ang Pilipinas ng puntos na 46% sa overall resilience.

Sinundan ng bansa ang Singapore (72%), Vietnam (52%), Brunei (51%), Malaysia (51%), Thailand (51%), at Indonesia (48%).

Naunahan naman ng bansa ang Myanmar (45%), Cambodia (43%), Laos (42%), at Timor Leste (38%).

“The internet plays a critical role in society today, and the COVID-19 pandemic further underlined the importance of reliable Internet connectivity for everyone. Unfortunately, not all countries have reliable Internet infrastructure,” anang ISOC.

“Low-income countries often have under-provisioned networks and lack robust cable infrastructure and redundant interconnection systems. In these countries or regions, the likelihood of Internet outages occurring is much higher than elsewhere,” patuloy nito.

Sinuri ng organisasyon ang internet resilience ng mahigit 170 bansa sa apat na pillars: infrastructure, performance, security, at market readiness.

“A resilient internet connection is one that maintains an acceptable level of service in the face of faults and challenges to normal operation,” pahayag ng ISOC.

Sinabi ng advocacy group na nilalayon ng Internet Resilience Index nito na suportahan ang development ng mga polisiya at imprastraktura upang paghusayin ang Internet resilience sa local, regional, at global levels. RNT/SA
