MANILA, Philippines – TINIYAK ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., na may sapat na suplay ng langis ang Pilipinas.
Ito’y sa gitna ng matinding tensyon sa Gitnang Silangan.
“First of all, let me assure everyone that we have sufficient supply of oil. Mayroon tayong stockpile that are approximately 50 to 60 days in terms of gasoline, in terms of fuel oil, and in terms of kerosene,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa press conference sa Kalayaan Hall, Malakanyang, araw ng Martes.
“So, that is – let me immediately allay the fears of everyone that the oil supply of oil-derived products – of oil products even fertilizer, something that we have to look at. And we have sufficient supply,” aniya pa rin.
Nauna rito, sinabi ng Department of Energy – Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) na posibleng tumaas ng hanggang P10 per liter ang presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo dahil sa US-Iran conflict.
Sinabi ni DOE-OIMB director Rino Abad, kapag umabot sa USD20 ang pagtaas sa bawat bariles ng langis, posible ang P7 hanggang P10 per liter ang pagtaas ng langis sa bansa.
Ayon sa kanya, sa ngayon, ang pagtaya nila ay tumataas na ang presyo sa unang araw ng trading ng P5 hanggang P10 per liter ang impact ng unang trading pa lang ng adjustment ng MOPS.
Samantala, sinabi ni Abad na nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) at Department of Agriculture (DA) para sa posibleng paglalabas ng fuel subsidies.
Aniya, ipatutupad ang fuel subsidies kung aabot sa $80 per barrel sa loob ng isang buwan. KRIS JOSE
