NASA tamang landas ang Pilipinas para magtatag ng mas mapayapa at masaganang Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Sa pagsasalita sa isinagawang pag-turnover ng 3rd Intergovernmental Relations Body (IGRB) Progress Report sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang, kumpiyansang sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na mapagtatagumpayan ng bansa ang natitirang hamon upang masiguro ang patuloy na development ng five-year-old Bangsamoro region.
Tinukoy ni Pangulong Marcos ang transformative reforms na ginagawa ng pamahalaan para tulungan ang BARMM, kabilang na ang ‘commissioning ng mga dating Moro rebels sa police force, pagkakaloob ng amnestiya sa mga kuwalipikadong mga dating Moro combatants, pag-turnover ng iba’t ibang properties at assets ng national government sa loob ng BARMM, at ang paglagda sa Intergovernmental Energy Board Circular sa joint award hinggil sa petroleum service contracts at coal operating contracts sa rehiyon.
“These peace and development milestones are part of our collective efforts to lay the groundwork for effective governance and meaningful autonomy environment,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.
“I’m confident that we are on the right path to building a more peaceful, stable and prosperous Bangsamoro region as we find responsive solutions to the remaining issues and concerns that still need to be addressed,” aniya pa rin.
Sa kabilang dako, hinikayat naman ng Pangulo si Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, co-chair ng IGRB at tanging Muslim sa gabinete, na bilisan ang IGRB manual of operations at resolusyon ng mga natukoy na isyu bago pa ang unang BARMM parliamentary elections sa susunod na taon.
Winika ni Pangulong Marcos na ang naturang manual ay para “facilitate a proactive monitoring of issues and establish a system of continuity” para sa Bangsamoro government.
Ang unang parliamentary election sa BARMM ay isasagawa nang sabay sa May 12, 2025 midterm elections.
Sinabi pa ni Pangulong Marcos na ang 3rd IGRB Progress Report ay isang patunay sa mga stakeholders ng “fruitful partnership and enduring commitment to peace and development.”
Nilikha sa pamamagitan ng Republic Act 11054 o Bangsamoro Organic Law, “the IGRB facilitates the coordination and resolves issues between the national and Bangsamoro governments through regular consultations and negotiations.”
Para naman kay Pangandaman, sinabi nito na ang tagumpay ng BARMM ay “not only a matter of concern for (the) BARMM but also a top priority of the Philippine government.”
“In fact, beyond being a matter of national interest, the success of BARMM is also a world issue because the world is looking (at) BARMM to be the shining example of peace. Hence, I must emphasize that we cannot fail,” ayon pa rin sa Kalihim.
