MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ng Pilipinas nitong Lunes na nababahala ito sa tensyon sa pagitan ng Israel at Iran at hinikayat ang mga partidong resolbahin ang isyu.
“The Philippines expresses its serious concern over the increasing tensions between Israel and Iran,” pahayag ng Department of Foreign Affairs.
“We urge all parties to refrain from escalating the situation and to work towards a peaceful resolution of their conflict,” dagdag nito.
“The Philippines has long advocated for all states to adhere to the principles of international law and to the peaceful settlement of disputes,” patuloy ng DFA.
Inatake ng Iran ang Israel nitong Sabado (Linggo, PH time), gamit ang drones at missiles bilang tugon sa umano’y Israeli air strike sa Iranian consulate sa Damascus, Syria noong Abril 1. Nasawi sa nasabing Damascus strike ang pito sa Iranian military advisers, kabilang ang tatlong senior commanders.
Nagdulot ang Iranian attack ng minimal na pinsala sa Israel dahil karamihan sa missiles at drones ay napigilan ng Iron Dome defense system ng Israel sa tulong ng US, Britain, France, at Jordan, base sa ulat ng Reuters. RNT/SA
