MANILA, Philippines – Makikipagtulungan ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) at mga telecommunications companies sa layuning hadlangan ang mga banta ng bomba.
Sinabi ng PNP nitong Huwebes, na binanggit ang mga banta ng bomba laban sa Unibersidad ng Batangas noong Agosto 18; Unibersidad ng Bicol noong Oktubre 8; at Davao Wisdom Academy noong Oktubre 22.
“The Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) is enhancing its partnership with the DICT, telcos and [social media] platform administrators to trace and block online accounts used to issue threats or spread unverified reports about supposed bomb incidents,” ayon sa pahayag ng PNP.
Binanggit ng ahensyang nagpapatupad ng batas na ang Presidential Decree 1727 ay nagpaparusa sa mga false bomb threat na hanggang limang taong pagkakakulong at multang aabot sa P40,000.
“If you receive a threat or you see a suspicious object, report it immediately to the police. It will be better to verify it first with the authorities to avoid panic and false news,” paalala ni Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. sa publiko. RNT/MND
