MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ni House Speaker at Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez na suportado niya ang pagpopondo upang bigyan ng koneksyon sa internet ang lahat ng mga pampublikong paaralan sa bansa.
Noong Miyerkules, sinabi ni Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Sec. Henry Rhoel Aguda na 78 percent ng mga pampublikong paaralan ang konektado na sa internet, at 12,000 pang paaralan sa mga liblib na lugar ang inaasahang bibigyan ng access.
“This is how our people’s taxes should be used for the benefit of our learners, so that they may become competent, skilled, and competitive, and eventually be gainfully employed in fulfilling livelihoods to help them lift their families out of poverty,” saad sa pahayag ni Romualdez nitong Sabado, Agosto 23.
“By connecting all public schools, we are laying the foundation for a more inclusive digital economy. This will empower our students with the tools and skills they need to thrive in a future where technology drives growth and progress,” giit niya.
Naglaan ang 2026 National Expenditure Program ng P5 bilyon upang ipatupad ang Free Public Internet Access Program ng DICT at P16.5 bilyon para sa Computerization Program ng Department of Education. RNT/JGC
