MANILA, Philippines – Matapos ang ilang sunod na linggo ng rollback ay taas-presyo naman sa produktong petrolyo ang ipinatupad ngayong araw, Mayo 5.
Nasa P2.21 sa kada litro ng gasolina ang nadagdag, habang P2.66 sa kada litro ng diesel ang nadagdag ngayong araw.
Sa kabila nito, nagkaroon naman ng P3.53 kada litro ng rollback sa presyo ng kerosene.
Ayon kay Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Sharon Garin, ang presyo ng produktong petrolyo ay “steadying at a certain pace,” dahil na din sa foreign exchange movements at mga pagbabago sa freight at insurance costs.
“We cannot give an assurance that the price will go down or go up, but we are only explaining this so that people know why the price is like that,” ayon pa kay Garin.
Aniya, ang hike ay batay sa international prices, “which is not within the control of our country or even our industry players.” RNT/JGC
