MANILA, Philippines- Kinumpirma ng Commission on Appointment (CA) nitong Miyerkules ang appointment ng 15 senior officers ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Ito ay matapos irekomenda ng CA committee on national defense ang pag-apruba sa ad interim appointments at nominations ng mga sumusunod na opisyal:
-Bob Apostol sa ranggong Brigadier General
-Hubert Acierto sa ranggong Brigadier General
-Rosendo Abad Jr. sa ranggong Brigadier General
-Raul Tangco sa ranggong Brigadier General (Reserve)
-Ronald Jess Alcudia sa ranggong Brigadier General
-Joseph Archog sa ranggong Brigadier General
-Adonis Ariel Orio sa ranggong Major General
-Juario Marayag sa ranggong Rear Admiral
-Jose Ma. Ambrosio Ezpeleta sa ranggong Vice Admiral
-Florante Gagua sa ranggong Rear Admiral
-Michael Logico sa ranggong Brigadier General
-Jose Ambrosio Rustia sa ranggong Brigadier General
-Ferdinand Barandon sa ranggong Brigadier General
-Joseph Norwin Pasamonte sa ranggong Major General
-Alan Javier sa ranggong Rear Admiral
Sa CA national defense committee hearing, inihayag ni Barandon, commander ng Intelligence Command ng AFP, na walang destabilization plot sa hanay sa gitna ng impeachment moves laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sinabi ni Barandon na “there is nothing to worry about” pagdating sa AFP.
“I would like to emphasize, as mentioned by our Chief of Staff—we’ll be mission-focused and we will abide by duly constituted authority. As to the retired officers, I think I’m not in the position to talk about what they are thinking or what they would want to do,” anang opisyal.
“We are confident and again I would like to re-echo the statement of the Chief of Staff as well as senior commanders of the AFP [who] are constantly talking to members of the AFP on matters pertaining to our mission and also our constitutional duty to defend the Constitution as well as the people,” dagdag niya.
Iginiit ng AFP intelligence chief na ang military officers ay “professionals and mission-oriented” na sumusunod sa “chain of command.” RNT/SA
