MANILA, Philippines – Handa na ang Prosecution Panel para sa isasagawang pre-trial conference pagkatapos na makapaghain ng tugon si Vice President Sara Duterte sa apat na Articles of Impeachment na ang ibinigay na palugit ay hanggang ngayong araw lamang.
Sa isang press conference sa Kamara sinabi ni Batangas Rep. at Prosecution Panel Head Rep. Ginky Luistro na ang pre-trial conference ay ang simpleng presentasyon aniya ng mga ebidensya at testigo na maaaring iharap sa panahon ng impeachment trial.
“Kapag sinabi nating pre-trial conference ay nagsa-submit tayo ng stipulation of facts and we responde whether to admit or to deny the stipulation of the defense team. We also submit the list of the witnesses and we do the markings also of the exhibit which will be very very helpful to us considering that three out of four articles have voluminous documents to consider” paunang pahayag ni Luistro.
Aniya, ang tatlong articles of impeachment ay ang ukol sa confidential funds, bribery at unexplained wealth.
“We look forward to attending the pre-trial conference which according to news report ay sa June 15 daw. And after the pre-trial conference the initial day of trial according to those report will be on July 6. Actually wala po tayong official notice about the schedule of pre-trial conference, we have no official information, as a matter of fact whether papayagan ba itong pre-trial conference na ito and even the first schedule of the trial ay wala pa tayong official notice from the impeachment court.”
Aniya, positibo ang prosecution panel na magtutuloy-tuloy na ang pagdinig dahil nag-convene naman ang Senado bilang impeachment court.
“As far as the 11 Prosecutors is concerned, kami po ay ready to appear before the impeachment court as we have shared before nagkaroon po ng assignment of Articles of Impeachment. Ito pong four Articles of Impeachment being led by one public prosecutor like for threat our team leader is STML Noy Defensor for confidential fund is Congressman Joel Chua, because I yielded to all the team leaders and I will not be leading anymore an article of impeachment. For bribery is Congressman Keith Flores and unexplained wealth is Congressman Terry Ridon.”
Binigyang linaw pa ni Luistro na hangga’t hindi natatapos ang paghahain ng mga ebidensya ay magkakaroon pa rin ng mga pagbabago sa kaniya-kaniyang assignment.
“Please anticipate that there will be changes on the assignment of the prosecutors after all ito po ay exclusive authority ng prosekusyon to decide on how we will present the evidence, who to present, what to present and when to present them.
Sa ngayon aniya ay full swing ang paghahanda ng prosekusyon at patuloy na nagrerepaso sa mga materyales at dokuemnto, nagsasagawa ng mga workshops at mock trial habang papalapit ang pagdinig sa Senado. Meliza Maluntag
