Manila, Philippines – Pinayuhan ni Davao Rep. Paolo Duterte ang tagapagsalita ng Malakanyang na balikan muna ang mga pangyayari at repasuhin ang totoong kaganapan bago magbigay ng komento at magparatang.
Reaksyon ito ng mambabatas sa aniya’y “historically ignorant remarks” ni Undersecretary Claire Castro ukol sa isyu ng West Philippine Sea.
“Before the Palace spokesperson lecture anyone about ‘being inutile’ in defending our seas, she should first study the timeline and check the facts. Hindi puwede puro satsat lang sa camera, zero research,” ani Duterte.
Banggit pa ng kongresista na sa ilalim ng administrasyong Duterte ay naitala ng Armed Forces of the Philippines ang “record level of modernization” na hindi nagawa sa loob ng nagdaang dekada.
“Radars, missile systems, attack helicopters, naval assets, and better-equipped soldiers. That did not fall from the sky. That took political will and budget prioritization.”
Kung ito aniya ay pagiging inutil, nangangahulugan na rin ayon kay Duterte na ang AFP ay walang kwenta, aniya, gayung hindi biro ang ginawang pakikipaglaban ng mga sundalo.
“That is an insult to the uniform she claims to speak for. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte protected Filipino lives above all. He did not gamble our people for the sake of impressing foreign handlers or smiling for Washington photo-ops. He refused to be a pawn of the CIA. He refused to drag Filipinos into a war we cannot afford,” pahayag pa ni Pulong.
Giit pa ng kongresista na si dating Pangulong Duterte ay nagpakita ng pag-asa at pagmamalasakit sa kasundaluhan, nagpataas ng moral, at hindi nagpahintulot na mamayani ang mga walang katuparang pangako.
Kasabay nito, nanawagan siya kay Castro na kung hindi nito maipagtatanggol si Pangulong Marcos, huwag naman sanang siraan ang mga pagtatagumpay at ginawang mabuti ng nagdaang administrasyon.
“If you cannot defend your President’s failure, don’t rewrite the successes of the previous one. Do not disrespect a leader who actually delivered safety and stability for our citizens while you are busy crowdsourcing solutions for the economy. The Duterte administration faced challenges head-on. And most of all, it delivered,” giit pa ni Rep. Duterte.
