MANILA, Philippines — Sinuspinde ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Quezon City ang lahat ng klase sa pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa Lunes, Hulyo 27, kasabay ng ikalimang State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Sa ilalim ng Executive Order No. 23, Series of 2026, ipinatupad ang suspensyon dahil gaganapin ang SONA sa Batasang Pambansa Complex. Nagbabala rin ang lokal na pamahalaan sa posibleng pagsasara ng mga kalsada na maaaring makaapekto sa mga motorista, pasahero, at estudyante.
“Classes shall be suspended in all levels for both private and public schools in Quezon City in view of the State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. All residents are enjoined to listen to the Sona of the President of the Republic of the Philippines.”
Magpapatupad din ang lungsod ng liquor ban mula 12:01 a.m. hanggang 6 p.m. ng Hulyo 27.
“The residents and visitors of Quezon City may be affected by acts [caused] by intoxication, which could negatively impact the peace and order of the community and general public,” ayon sa hiwalay na Executive Order.
Samantala, inaprubahan na ng Quezon City LGU ang aplikasyon ng Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, Sanlakas, at Better Brighter para magsagawa ng rally sa Commonwealth Avenue sa araw ng SONA. Nasa proseso pa ng pag-apruba ang iba pang aplikasyon.
Magde-deploy naman ang Philippine National Police (PNP) ng mahigit 20,000 tauhan para sa seguridad sa araw ng SONA. RNT/MDS
