MANILA, Philippines – Sinuspinde ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee ang mga inisyal na plano nitong ipagpatuloy ang imbestigasyon sa maanomalyang flood control projects sa susunod na linggo, ayon sa chairman nitong si Senador Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.
Ito ay dahil sa ang mga dokumentong gagamitin sana sa susunod na pagdinig ay hindi pa handa. Dagdag pa, mayroon ding conflict sa iba pang mga pagdinig sa Senado.
“Initially I had scheduled a hearing on Wednesday, Oct. 8…. To maximize the discussions, I checked with the DOJ if the supposed “tell-all” affidavit/s of the Discayas were already available. Corollary to that, I also checked with the office of the executive judge of Manila RTC if they have concluded the investigation on the possible violations of the notarized document involving TSgt Guteza and Atty Espera. Having been informed that both would not be ready within one week, not to mention that the BRC hearing will be in conflict with the budget and CA hearings, I informed SP Sotto of the cancellation until further notice,” saad sa mensahe ni Lacson nitong Sabado, Oktubre 4.
Hindi rin nagsagawa ng anumang pagdinig ng komite kaugnay sa flood control noong nakaraang linggo.
Ayon kay Senador Imee Marcos, nahihiwagaan ang ilang senador sa pagkakaroon ng usapin na hindi na magpapatuloy ang komite sa pagdinig at magkakaroon na lamang ng partial report.
“Nalilito kami sa Senado at ang balita, ‘di na raw magpapa-hearing ang blue ribbon kundi maglalabas na si Senator Lacson ng partial report. Baka may pinag-usapan sa majority caucus?” ani Marcos.
Sa kabila nito, sumagot si Lacson at sinabing dapat dumalo si Marcos sa mga pagdinig ng komite upang hindi malito.
Aniya, inimbitahan din nila na dumalo sa susunod na pagdinig sina resigned Ako Bicol party-list Representative Zaldy Co at Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez.
“For the next hearing of the committee, we will send an invitation letter to his (Co) address. Now we know he is abroad and will not show up. If that is the case, we will issue a subpoena, and then a show-cause order,” ayon pa sa senador.
“If the show-cause order is not satisfactory, we will cite him in contempt of the committee and issue a warrant for his arrest,” dagdag ni Lacson.
Para kay Romualdez, sinabi ni Lacson na ang imbitasyon ay papadaanin kay House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, “in observation of the time-honored inter-parliamentary courtesy between the two houses of Congress.”
