MANILA, Philippines – Humingi ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) ng tulong sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) upang imbestigahan ang diumano’y korapsyon ni LTO Region 12 (Soccsksargen) Regional Director Meharrieh Tomawis.
Sa liham kay NBI officer-in-charge Angelito DLP Magno, binanggit ng LTO ang ilang reklamo laban kay Tomawis, kabilang ang umano’y pagbebenta ng posisyon, panunuhol, at nepotismo.
Ayon sa mga district chief sa ilalim niya, mayroong buwanang quota na PHP200,000 hanggang PHP300,000 upang hindi sila mailipat o matanggal sa opisina.
“Aside from this, complainants also reported a massive increase in the wealth and lavish lifestyle of the LTO official, which calls for an investigation,” ani ng LTO.
Dagdag pa ni HPG spokesperson Lt. Nadame Malang, kasalukuyang sinusuri ang illegal registration ng mga luxury vehicles ni Tomawis.
“The PNP-HPG anticipated this matter, and we are conducting verification and validation that the majority of the HPG clearance documents [of the registered vehicles] were fake,” ani niya. Santi Celario
