MANILA, Philippines – HANGAD ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. na magpatuloy ang national learning recovery program sa lalong madaling panahon.
Sa kanyang ikatlong State of the Nation Address, tinukoy ng Pangulo ang kamakailan lamang na assessments na nagpapakita na mahigit kalahati ng mga mag-aaral sa grades 6, 10, at 12 ay nabigong maabot ang ‘ideal proficiency levels’ at naka-iskor ng maibaba sa ‘information literacy, problem solving, at critical thinking skills.’
“Therefore, our national learning recovery program must proceed without the slightest disruption, especially in basic education. Our system of education must be strategically calibrated to make sure that our youth are not only taught to become literate, but [also] develop them into problem solvers and critical thinkers [who are] hungry for success and ready for the future,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.
Bukod sa pagtugon sa mga classroom gap, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na ang digital gap ay dapat na tinutugunan ng pinaigting na ‘intensity’.
“We are working towards a day when all students will be equipped with computers, smart TVs, essential programs, digital books, and once again, access to reliable power and the internet,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos.
Samantala, ang digitalization at solar powered electricity ay kailangan na maging ‘standard features’ sa mga eskuwelahan at classrooms.
