MANILA, Philippines- Tataas ang transmission charges ngayong buwan ng Pebrero dahil sa mas mataas na ancillary service costs.
Sa isang press briefing, sinabi ng National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) na ang overall transmission charges ay tumaas ng P1.3504 per kilowatt hour (kWh) mula sa P1.2583 noong December 2024 billing period
Ang bahagyang pagtaas ay isinisisi sa pagtaas ng adjustment na nakita sa ancillary service charges, o halaga ng elektrisidad na nagmula sa reserve market at providers na may bilateral contracts sa NGCP nang ang suplay ay manipis.
“The ancillary service rates jumped 12 percent to 66 centavos per kWh against the previous 59 centavos,” ayon sa NGCP.
Sinabi ng kompanya na ang rates para sa period na kabilang sa first wave ng koleksyon ng 70% ancillary service charge na hindi siningil ng generators mula sa nakaraang taon.
Kung matatandaan, nagbigay ng “go signal” ang Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) para sa power generators na maka- recover ng kabuuang P3.05 billion, kumakatawan sa natitirang 70% ng preserve trading amounts.
Nauna nang sinuspinde ng komisyon ang koleksyon ng halaga sa reserve market kasunod ng pagsirit ng presyo.
“NGCP does not earn from AS and did not benefit from the increase in prices. AS charges are pass-through, and generating companies benefitted from this increase. AS are support services used to balance and stabilize the grid during power supply-demand imbalance,” ang sinabi ng ERC.
Samantala, ang transmission wheeling rates, o sinisingil ng NGCP sa mga consumers para sa paghahatid ng power, ay nananatili sa 54 sentimo per kWh mula 53 sentimo.
“Only 54 centavos of the overall transmission rate is charged by NGCP for the delivery of its services to power consumers. This month’s transmission charge is comprised mainly of as charges remitted directly to power generators providing ancillary services to the grid,” ayon sa NGCP. Kris Jose
