MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi Vice President Sara Duterte na ‘panatag’ siya anuman ang kalabasan ng impeachment trial na inihain laban sa kanya na pansamantalang nakatakdang magsimula sa Hulyo 30.
“As I said on the stage earlier, I will not talk about my impeachment because people might think that this is about my interests. I told them that you just leave the impeachment to me and I am at peace, I am at peace whatever the outcome of the impeachment trial will be, whether I may be acquitted or guilty, I already accepted that, the two possibilities,” ang sinabi ni VP Sara sa sidelines ng campaign event ng mga lokal na kandidato sa Zamboanga City.
Matatandaang noong Pebrero 5 ay inaprubahan ng House of Representatives ang impeachment laban kay Duterte at sa Hunyo naman posibleng simulan ng Senado ang paglilitis.
Kung matatalo naman si VP Duterte sa impeachment case sa Senado, hindi lang ito matatanggal sa pwesto, bawal na rin siyang tumakbo sa alin mang posisyon sa gobyerno.
Sa kabilang dako, sinabi ni VP Sara na ang nalalapit na impeachment trial ay hindi lamang tungkol sa kanya, “This is about politicians and the administration promising to the people that they will deliver genuine public service.”
Samantala, kinuwestiyon ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa Korte Suprema ang validity at constitutionality ng ika-apat na impeachment complaint na inihain laban sa kanya.
Nabatid na naghain ang kampo ng bise presidente ng petition for certiorari and prohibition with urgent application of temporary restraining order and/or writ of preliminary injunction sa Supreme Court (SC) hinggil dito.
Layunin ng petisyon na humingi ng ‘judicial intervention’ mula sa Korte Suprema at harangin ang impeachment complaint laban sa bise presidente. Kris Jose
