WOOYOUNG CHO CROWNED PGC CHAMPION, ORGANIZERS HAIL BINGOPLUS PARTNERSHIP

Korean golfer Wooyoung Cho emerged as the champion of the Philippine Golf Championship on Sunday at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club Manila, besting a world-class field in the country’s premier golf event.

With BingoPlus serving as the tournament’s official sponsor, Cho fired an impressive 11-under-par performance to clinch the title and take home the lion’s share of the $500,000 prize. The tournament opened with 144 players and was trimmed down to 73 contenders by championship day, culminating in four days of high-level competition.

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. CEO Tommy Hu was in attendance to watch the game and present the award to the champion.

“The strong support from BingoPlus is always a bonus for us. It was a very successful International Series last year, and I am glad that it has carried over to this tournament and also later in the year for another International Series,” said Asian Tour Commissioner and CEO Cho Minn Thant.

Meanwhile, National Golf Association of the Philippines Secretary General Bones Floro underscored BingoPlus’ role in helping elevate the local golf scene, stressing the importance of strong partnerships in driving sports development.

“Our sponsors are our most valued partners for this event. As monumental as they may be, it will never happen without our partnerships and our sponsors,” Floro stated.

“We are definitely very thankful to BingoPlus. The more sports they support, the better, not just golf, actually. If they support more sports in the country, it can only do good. The more sports, the better.”
